Three ways to NOT screw your social media campaigns 150 150 ishtehari

ust as the number of MBA graduates rise exponentially each year, the same trend has been noticed in terms of digital and social media agencies in Pakistan. You cross the road, but you won’t find that famous mythical chicken (we guarantee you that) but for sure you’d end up finding at least one self-proclaimed social media/digital agency with a long list of ‘satisfactory clients’ handling their social media presence like a B.A.W.S.E. and that’s – actually frustrating.

Almost every social media/digital agency sells the most important chooran to their client by the following lingo: we believe in make effective social media campaigns like NO other – really?

Won’t waste a lot of time (and words) on this but digital managers, strategists and people who’re heavily dependent on the digital/social world, you do know that no matter how kickass or out-of-the world the concept is, if you don’t execute well, at the end of the day, just another fail it is. Of you not meeting objectives and goals, actually. Here’s a quick rundown to three ways that can help you NOT screw your ‘wonderful’ social media campaigns:

  • Stop thinking to ‘boost’ your content all the time.

“This post isn’t working? Let’s boost. Such a beautiful creative and powerful copy, we should definitely boost this. Less reactions on this post? Don’t worry, we’ll boost the post.”

You need to stop being depending upon that ‘boosting’ option as it is NOT the solution to your problems. You want the campaign to be successful? Think 360 degrees. Let others talk about your work. Let the discussion going about campaign/idea – the more people would talk, the more stir and buzz it will cause on social sphere. The secret sauce is to onboard influencers, social media rock stars, bloggers with high engagement rate and following (not your best friend blogger buddy with 250 followers) and opinion leaders who people love listening to – yes, keep a leg of influence marketing to amplify the creative madness of your social campaign!

  • Stop relying on the stupid Internet trends.

Content is king and if it is; then it is going to rule cause that is what a king does.

Don’t ask people to do #KikiChallenge videos. Don’t add #dubsmash to your strategy. Almost a million brands out there make stuff on every trending (and also stupid) social media craze out there – don’t become a part of that rat race. Choose the path that’d benefit you. Think accordingly. Only dead fish go with the flow, you don’t need to do that. Design, think and curate your flow!

  • Talk visually as they speak louder than words!

If you don’t right swipe immediately on your designed creative, don’t expect your audience to.

Your work shouldn’t look like a homework assignment of your on-boarded graphic designer, it should look like a piece of art. Remember, just like you stop by a profile of a pretty girl on your news feed, same works with social media content. Make your stuff look visually appealing. Make them look good. Don’t make it look too brand-y and as it is going to get uploaded on brand’s social assets, it is evident that it’s a branded content – why the need to shove taglines, logos and corporate stuff into the beautiful work of design?

That’s all folks! You can thank us later.

How to build genuine Instagram following without ‘following’ random people?

How to build genuine Instagram following without ‘following’ random people? 150 150 ishtehari

nstagram – the world’s biggest, most popular and widely photo/video sharing app is an incredibly powerful social media app to reach people within communities. In world of marketing and advertising, Instagram has all it takes – to make or break a specific brand/company. Here in Pakistani sphere, there is one problem that is faced by every Instagrammer – how to increase ‘organic and authentic’ audience/followers?

Well, it’s easy. It doesn’t require painstaking chores, scientific equations or experiments and through this blog, we’re sharing three simple steps that you can easily follow to meet the objective – but there’s a logic/science behind it.

First, we need to understand the purpose of using Instagram. Although, there might be tons of reasons but it all comes down to four: to upload non-textual content, to be entertained, to see what’s happening around and fourth? To stalk your friends and recent crush (just kidding).

You need to notice that some of the most popular Instagram accounts are usually posting funny, highly engaging, or exciting content — that is it.

So keeping that in mind, here are three ways to get followers on Instagram without asking anybody else to “follow-for-follow” thingy cause that looks bad and weird:

  • Act as active: be consistent & regular with posts.

Might sound obvious but many Instagrammers do not post enough and that is why they’re facing issues in building their follower count – whereas if you focus on Instagrammers with massive following; they’re posting all the time – be it stories, posts, videos or whatever – they just keep posting. Even if they’ve got no content to post, they will just put a random story of their tea or clouds! Right?

We conclude that in order to get noticed by people, you need to maintain an active profile on Instagram because once the content gets old; it is less likely to be found and you’re not Kim Kardashian or Prince Harry that people will be searching for you via hashtags. To sum it short, posting frequently is the key, alright?

  • Days? For work, and evenings? To post and upload!

Evenings – the best time to post on Instagram. There are researches and surveys done on the ‘best timings’ to post on Instagram so we’re not shooting in the dark; it has been proven and evaluated. Because people are usually available by that time – they’re free, not doing home works or office presentations, scrolling content during tea time or laying around. Therefore, it has been observed that content that goes out on Instagram after 6PM in evening is most likely to get much better engagement and audience viewership as compared to daytime. So evening postings? More viewership and reach; which ultimately translates to gaining followers!

  • Breathing in a wonderful ‘trendy’ world? Kindly follow the trends.

Aligning your content with trending topics or hashtags can considerably improve discover-ability and engagement. For example, the #KoKoKorina fiasco is a trending topic these days and everybody is just talking about it. Wonder why? They’re music critics? They’re music producers? They’re journalists? Nope. They’re using it because it is a trend – and doing so will make them noticed by a huge chunk of audience. Hence, capitalize on trends to improve your engagement rate and reach but don’t become a racehorse – completely. We don’t want you to compromise on content quality or what you do best but we want you to engage with trends in a meaningful way. You don’t want to lose followers by tapping all the trends; so just post on those trends which you know your followers would love to hear you talking about. Remember, content is king and audience? The parliament!

Until next time, adios!
